If Blizzard ever did something like this to Diablo 3, there would be literally nothing we can do. It’s impossible for them to ruin that at this point. Obviously it’s terrible on Blizzard’s part they did this, but if nothing else they can’t ruin our ability to use an older client to play the working version offline. I’m not saying it’s okay that they did this or anything, more just that this sort of thing is why it’s so important that we don’t give up control over our own games to developers. So, if you wanna play over battle net vs real people, you’ll still have to downlaod the new client, which… as it currently stands, will break the functionality to make custom games offline, so you can custom maps or train against insane bots. I don’t remember the exact specifics, so don’t quote me, but there were things along those lines.Īgain, the game had a really good, updated client, that you could download from the site few months ago… but now, even if you select, that you wanna download just RoC or TFT, it still gives you the Reforged client only.Īnd, also… the way I understand it, the old servers are gone. Also, throughout the patches they added higher resolutions, no disc needed, things like that. The version from the old discs might not work well on Windows 10.
